Feng Rui is a chief physician, associate professor, and master's supervisor. He is the director of the Intervention Center & Department of Vascular Surgery at Shanghai General Hospital, Jiaotong University School of Medicine. He has performed complex surgeries in over 200 major hospitals in 28 provinces across China and won the first "Most Famous Doctor of the Nation" in 2017.
He is the vice chairman of the Committee on Aortic Dissection of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the Thoracic Aortic Committee of China of the International Union of Angiology, the director of the Training Base for Vascular Intervention of National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, Shanghai Aortic Disease Clinical Database, 
the Standing Committee Member of the Chinese Research Hospital Association Interventional Medicine Committee.
He focused on the minimally invasive treatment of aortic dissection and abdominal aortic aneurysm diseases and specialized in endovascular interventions for arteriosclerosis obliterans, visceral aneurysm, carotid artery stenosis, venous thromboembolism, etc. He is one of the most numerous and most difficult aortic minimally invasive surgeons in China. He has pioneered a large number of new surgical techniques such as double trunk branch stent repair of thoracoabdominal aorta, double splint repair of distal aortic dissection, multi-opening technique of abdominal aortic diseases, multi-parallel stenting of aortic arch diseases, phased endovascular treatment of reverse tearing aortic dissection (Stanford A-type), branch stent-assisted embolization of renal aneurysm, etc. He published over 50 papers in SCI and Chinese core journals and has been recognized for 12 events by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial and ministerial scientific research funds, and 24 national patents.
