Wu Weiwei is a professor, chief physician, doctoral supervisor, director of the Vascular Surgery Department, assistant president, director of the Quality Control Center of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, and Special Director of Vascular Surgery at Xiamen Changgung Hospital.
He is good at dealing with complex vascular diseases, especially aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, and peripheral arterial occlusive diseases. He is the first to carry out minimally invasive treatment of difficult aortic dissection or aortic aneurysm, minimally invasive plaque removal of lower extremity artery, drug balloon dilatation of lower extremity artery, venous thrombus aspiration, and varicose vein radiofrequency surgery in China.
He is also the vice chairman of the Lower Extremity Arterial Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association Vascular Surgery Branch, the vice chairman of the Translational Medicine Special Committee of the China Branch of the International Vascular Alliance, the standing member of the Vascular Surgery Branch of Beijing Medical Association, the standing director of Beijing Medical Doctor Association and the vice president and general director of Vascular Surgery Specialist Branch, the director of China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Health Care and the standing director of Vascular Surgery Branch. He is the deputy leader of the Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Intravenous Infusion Pathway Research Group and the editorial member of Surgery (the first and second editions), the 13th Five-Year Medical Planning Textbook for colleges and universities. He has published over 50 papers in core journals, including 12 SCI papers, 12 patents, and 4 monographs. He was awarded the title of "Capital Outstanding Young Doctor" in 2016, "People's Good Doctor" in 2019, "Beijing Excellent Doctor" in 2020, "Respect and Protect Life and Honor Doctors" Youth Innovation Award in 2021, and "Beijing Advanced Individual of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games" in 2022.
