Prof.Li Xinxiang has been engaged in colorectal cancer clinical work for a long time and has rich experience in colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment. He is involved in clinical work and research at the Cleveland Clinic Florida Minimally Invasive Surgery Center. After returning to China, he was the first to successfully carry out various laparoscopic colorectal operations while working at the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Fudan University. He has rich clinical experience in laparoscopic treatment of senile colorectal cancer and laparoscopic ultra-low anal preservation surgery. The quality of minimally invasive surgery has advanced at home and abroad. The research results of "Optimization and promotion of the whole management mode of Rectal cancer surgical treatment" won the second prize in the 17th Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award in 2018 and the third prize in the China Medical Science and Technology Award in 2019, the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association in 2022, and won the third "Bethune Good Doctor Nomination Award". The world's first laparoscopic transanal trawling without angular double anastomosis was performed. The clinical research results won the 2009 International Young Researcher Award of the American College of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgeons and the second prize of the 2012 Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education. He was invited to participate in completing the United States Clinical Practice Guidelines for Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery (SAGES MANUAL). As the first person in charge, he undertook many national and provincial scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation (3 projects), the key basic research projects of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, the horizontal and university-level prospective research projects of the China Medical Foundation, and served as the evaluation expert of the National Natural Science Foundation and the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, and led several domestic prospective multi-center clinical research projects. Participated in compiling 10 colorectal-related guidelines and consensus and obtained 2 invention patents and 2 utility model patents. He is the chief editor of 6 books. As the corresponding and first author, he has published 77 papers in well-known journals at home and abroad and 5 articles with SCI impact factor scores of more than 10. Guest editor of the international journal Frontiers in Oncology, section Gastrointestinal Cancers, Serves on the editorial board of the World Journal of Clinical Oncology and Annals of Translational Medicine.
